Learn how to take and upload screenshots on any device

iPhone & iPad

Apple devices

Method 1: Physical Buttons

  1. 1. Press and hold the Side Button (power button) and the Volume Up button at the same time
  2. 2. Release both buttons quickly
  3. 3. You'll see a flash and hear a camera sound
  4. 4. The screenshot will appear in your Photos app

Method 2: AssistiveTouch (Easier)

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch → AssistiveTouch
  2. 2. Turn on AssistiveTouch
  3. 3. Tap the floating button → Device → More → Screenshot
  4. 4. Your screenshot will be saved to Photos

How to Upload:

  1. 1. Open TechMate in your web browser
  2. 2. Go to Screenshot Helper or Scam Checker
  3. 3. Tap "Choose File" or "Upload Screenshot"
  4. 4. Select "Photo Library" or "Camera"
  5. 5. Choose your screenshot and tap "Done"

Android Phone/Tablet

Samsung, Google, and other Android devices

Method 1: Physical Buttons

  1. 1. Press and hold the Power Button and Volume Down button together
  2. 2. Hold for about 2 seconds until you see a flash
  3. 3. You'll hear a camera sound
  4. 4. The screenshot will be saved to your Gallery

Method 2: Palm Swipe (Samsung)

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Advanced features → Motions and gestures
  2. 2. Turn on Palm swipe to capture
  3. 3. Place your hand vertically on the screen edge
  4. 4. Swipe across the screen from left to right
  5. 5. The image will be saved to your Desktop

How to Upload:

  1. 1. Open TechMate in your web browser
  2. 2. Go to Screenshot Helper or Scam Checker
  3. 3. Click "Choose File" or "Upload Screenshot"
  4. 4. Navigate to your Desktop
  5. 5. Select your screenshot file and click "Open"

Windows Computer

PC and laptop computers

Method 1: Print Screen Key

  1. 1. Press the PrtScn (Print Screen) key on your keyboard
  2. 2. Open Paint or Photos app
  3. 3. Press Ctrl + V to paste
  4. 4. Save the image as a file

Method 2: Snipping Tool (Easier)

  1. 1. Press Windows key + Shift + S
  2. 2. Select the area you want to capture
  3. 3. The screenshot will be copied to your clipboard
  4. 4. Paste it into Paint and save as a file

How to Upload:

  1. 1. Open TechMate in your web browser
  2. 2. Go to Screenshot Helper or Scam Checker
  3. 3. Click "Choose File" or "Upload Screenshot"
  4. 4. Navigate to where you saved your screenshot
  5. 5. Select the file and click "Open"

Mac Computer

iMac, MacBook, and other Apple computers

Method 1: Full Screen

  1. 1. Press Command + Shift + 3
  2. 2. The screenshot will be saved to your Desktop
  3. 3. Look for a file named "Screen Shot" with today's date

Method 2: Select Area

  1. 1. Press Command + Shift + 4
  2. 2. Drag to select the area you want to capture
  3. 3. Release to take the screenshot
  4. 4. The image will be saved to your Desktop

How to Upload:

  1. 1. Open TechMate in your web browser
  2. 2. Go to Screenshot Helper or Scam Checker
  3. 3. Click "Choose File" or "Upload Screenshot"
  4. 4. Navigate to your Desktop
  5. 5. Select your screenshot file and click "Open"

Helpful Tips

Before Taking Screenshots:

  • • Make sure the content you want to capture is visible on screen
  • • Close any personal information you don't want to share
  • • Ensure good lighting if taking photos of physical screens
  • • Check that your device has enough storage space

After Taking Screenshots:

  • • Check that the screenshot captured what you intended
  • • Look for the screenshot in your Photos/Gallery app
  • • You can edit screenshots to highlight important parts
  • • Delete screenshots you no longer need to save space

Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

  • Screenshot not working: Check if your device allows screenshots
  • Can't find screenshot: Look in Photos, Gallery, or Desktop
